Another Look towards the East

My best friend always says that the Church is the New Israel. That being the case, I came across this fascinating article in the New Liturgical Movement that shows how orientation was used in Ancient Israel and is still used today.

I do owe a huge debt of gratitude to the author of "Turning Towards the Lord", Fr. Uwe Michael Lang, for helping me to see (in more ways than one) the importance of proper orientation during the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.  I also owe a huge debt of gratitude for my friend for reminding me that the Church is a continuation of Ancient Israel.
